Aqui Me Quedo has been a cherished part of the Hartford community for over 50 years. Founded by William, who journeyed from a small town in Puerto Rico, the restaurant was born out of his dream to share the delicious and vibrant flavors of Puerto Rican cuisine. Upon his arrival in Hartford, William quickly realized that the best way to connect with his new community was through the food he loved. Naming the restaurant “Aqui Me Quedo,” which means “Here I Stay,” William’s vision was to create a place where people could experience the warmth and richness of Puerto Rican culture. Today, his legacy is carried on by Wilma and Joel, who have been running Aqui Me Quedo and continuing to serve their family recipes to generations of loyal customers. Their dedication to authentic flavors and a welcoming atmosphere has made Aqui Me Quedo a staple in Hartford, embodying the essence of Puerto Rican hospitality and culinary tradition.
