In June of 2011, Tina and Kevin Cavanagh purchased a donut shop in North Bismarck, and changed it into the first Bearscat Bakehouse.

Bearscat is an old cowboy term for donuts, we thought that was a bit silly, so we decided to name our shop that. We think buying donuts should be fun and just a bit silly.

In December 2015, they opened a second bakery in Mandan, ND, across the river from Bismarck.

The year 2018 brought distribution of Bearscat donuts into local supermarkets and in July or 2018, a Minot, ND location was opened, with supermarket availability of Bearscat Donuts also expanded to Minot Cashwise stores!

The newest location is in South Bismarck at 2nd St and Indiana Ave.
