Founded in 2008, Mama Zoe’s was the origin of Michael Family Restaurant Group as the first establishment they brought to the Winston-Salem community and remains locally owned and operated by the Michael Family, including Mama Zoe herself. The beginning of their culinary journey began at Zoe’s father’s establishment, Christy’s Family Restaurant, in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. Zoe learned everything she knew about hospitality and the tradition of scratch-made recipes from her father, Crazy Bill. Many patrons will remember Crazy Bill greeting them at the door of Zoe’s every morning with a warm welcome. Keeping with the theme of family traditions, the Winston-Salem restaurant takes a nod from their original Zoe’s Southern Grill in Fort Myers, Florida, keeping menu staples such as the Savannah fried chicken and crunchy grouper. Serving up true scratch-made comfort foods in Winston-Salem, Mama Zoe’s uses recipes passed down through generations for over 50 years. A mix of traditional Greek plates, as well as southern classics, expansive breakfast offerings, and decadent desserts, there’s something for everyone at Mama Zoe Michael’s!
