Open Kitchen is brought to you by a young and ambitious hard working couple named Dexter and Toni Smith who had the same vision back in 2014. That vision was to provide people with both extraordinary food and exceptional service.
Chef Dexter Smith graduated from The Chef’s Academy in 2012. Once he graduated from culinary school, he continued to perfect his craft and was mentored by various talented chefs over the course of a few years. During this time, both Dexter and Toni created an at home restaurant concept. With this concept, it gave them the power to deliver an elegant restaurant atmosphere to their clients’ home or their clients’ destination.
Toni Smith has the pleasure of running the front of the house. She has enjoyed being in the Front of the House position since she was 15. Toni gained her restaurant experience by starting as a hostess and continually worked her way up to a Front of House Manager pro. During Toni’s time in college, she worked along side Dexter to create Open Kitchen all while serving in some of the top restaurants in Indianapolis. Once she graduated from Harrison College in 2013 as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
In September 2020, the couple was able to open their very first restaurant known today as Open Kitchen Restaurant!
